Youth
Youth Ministries Theme Verse
Jesus answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and most important command. And the second command is like the first: 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' (Matthew 22:37-38 New Century Version)
Thanks to advancements of modern technology - the statement ... "if you jump in the water you're going to get wet" no longer is true. What does it mean for us (Believers of Christ) if we are to be "water" in this world?
Our Goal for 2008/2009 is to do more than get our "faith" feet a little wet. Instead we want to explore what does it means to be "Saturated" in our faith. In otherwords how to we live out Matthew 22:37-38, by loving God with all we have and loving others?
Our Youth Ministry Events Are:
Sunday mornings Youth (grade 7 to 12) are invited to join in either our Junior High or Senior High classes for a time of hanging out, teaching and discussion.
Saturday nights If you are looking for something with a little more action, then once every two weeks we hold a youth event (usually on Saturday nights) from 7 to 10 p.m. Typical events include car rallys, fear factor games, sports events, lots of snacks and fun! Check out the list of youth events for the next few months from the Church Calendar.
Service Events - Once a month a group of youth and parents from the church volunteer at the Mustard Seed Emergency Shelter where we serve in whatever way we are needed. In the spring of 2009 we are planning a trip to Vancouver to participate in YWAM's Mission Adventure Street Experience.
Glamorgan Church's Youth Ministry believes that parents are the key influencer in their youth's Spiritual Journey. It is our privilege to journey along side parents and youth as together we grow in our faith. We provide a safe place where youth can put feet to their faith and encourage parents to serve alongside their child. Our desire is to see youth connect with each other, and also to find their unique place within the overall church community.
